The HCKAN stands for the Hobie Cat Class Association of the Netherlands and was established in 1974. From the beginning, Hobie Cat sailing was very popular in the Netherlands given its shallow coast on the North Sea in combination with it’s sandy beaches.
The HCKAN is promoting catamaran sailing in it’s broadest varieties in the Netherlands. We try to achieve this by organizing regatta’s, events, clinics and trainings for catsailors and promote the fun and competition of sailing on multihulls. The board of the HCKAN consists of volunteers with cat sailing as core competence and with salt waters running through their veins.
In the end however, all participants, Hobie afficionados and sailing clubs in the Netherlands are of key importance to assist us in establishing all this. Promoting catamaran sailing is an on-going, cooperate activity for all of us!
